Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series Falls to Unfavorable Weather Forecast at Atomic Speedway

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (October 27, 2023)- Officials with Atomic Speedway, the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series, and the Valvoline Iron-Man Sprint Car Series have announced the cancellation of the Halloween Havoc Champions Night event scheduled for Atomic Speedway on Saturday, October 28.

With a forecast giving a higher than average percentage of rain at times throughout the day on Saturday, along with the cost of diesel and fuel for travel, the track and series officials have made the tough decision to cancel the event as they felt it would be in the best interest of the race teams and race fans to save them unnecessary expenditures.

This concludes the 2023 racing season for the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series and spoils the debut of the Valvoline Iron-Man Sprint Car Series that was set to take place at this event. Josh Rice of Verona, KY is the 2023 Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series champion. He will receive $5,000 for his efforts.

The next event for the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will be Saturday November 18 as the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will conclude its 2023 race season with the tour’s first ever visit to Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, SC paying $10,000 to win. This event will be co-sanctioned with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.
