South Central Kentucky Dirt Racing Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Has Successful Induction Ceremony
SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (March 11, 2025)- In front of a crowd of over 200 friends and family, the Class of 2025 was inducted into the South Central Kentucky Dirt Racing Hall of Fame on Saturday March 8 at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY in an event that was full of fun, fellowship, and the recounting of many old racing stories.
A total of seventeen individuals were inducted into what would be the sixth class of inductees into the South Central Kentucky Dirt Racing Hall of Fame. Drivers that were inducted into the Hall of Fame in the Class of 2025 included Jack Boggs, Eddie Carrier, Jr., Jeff Coulter, Whitney McQueary, Russ Petro, Ricky Spalding, David Speer, Tim Tungate, Mickey Williams, and Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge. Contributors to the sport that were inducted included Michael Despain, David and Anita Ferrell, Scott and Win Smith, Don Swafford, and Spencer Wilson.
Two new categories were added to the Hall of Fame with the induction of the class of 2025. One of those is the Rod Carter, Jr. Sportsmanship Award and the first recipient of that prestigious honor was Tyrel Todd. The other category was a Fan Award to a dirt racing fan that has been very supportive of the sport and the inaugural winner of that award was Joe Miller, therefore, from this point forward that award will be known as the Joe Miller Fan Award. The South Central Kentucky Dirt Racing Hall of Fame is already hard at work to set the construction ballot and begin the process of selecting the Class of 2026 into the Hall of Fame. The executive board members for the South Central Kentucky Dirt Racing Hall of Fame are Chris Tilley, Allen Tilley, Noel Hargis, Walt Swafford, Mike Sullivan, and Michael Despain. The voting board for the South Central Kentucky Dirt Racing Hall of Fame includes the executive board members along with Jeff Watson, Mark Black, Dale Atwood, David Tilley, Tommy Yates, Jimmy Cundiff, and Eddie Carrier, Sr.
