Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series at Boyd’s Speedway for 33rd Annual Gobbler Saturday November 20

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (November 14, 2021) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series and Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will visit Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Saturday November 20 for the 33rd Annual Gobbler, which will see the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series race for $5,000 to win/$500 to start (24 cars will start the main event) and the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series racing for $1,200 to win/$125 to start.

Prior to the Gobbler on November 20, the track will host an Open Practice for all divisions on Friday November 19 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Pit gate will open at 3:00 p.m. and a pit pass will be $20, while admission to the grandstand area will be free.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will be featured at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Saturday November 20 in the track’s 33rd Annual Gobbler event and will see the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, and the 40-lap, $5,000 to win/$500 to start Gobbler main event. The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will also be in action at the Gobbler and will have a full program of Practice, E-Z GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, and the 20-lap, $1,200 to win/$125 to start Gobbler Open-Wheel Modified main event. Other divisions in competition at The Gobbler on Saturday November 20 will be Crate 604 Late Models racing for $2,000 to win (presented by Brown Haven Homes), Sportsman 602 racing for $1,250 to win (presented by Brown Haven Homes), Front Wheel Drives racing for $750 to win, B-Hobby racing for $750 to win ($300 bonus for the highest finishing Thunder car), Southern Mod 4 Mini Association (SM4MA) Pony Series racing for $2,000 to win, and an Enduro to complete the Gobbler events for the evening paying $1,000 to win.

Of note, CT Promotions is sponsoring an engine bonus for any Super Late Model that uses an All Steel/525/SPEC engine package (driver MUST finish the race and TELL the series at registration prior to racing of your engine package). The bonuses are $200 for highest finisher and $100 for second-highest finisher. Driver must finish the race.

In addition, the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series event at Boyd’s Speedway on November 20 will be a non-points event for the series, but there will be two provisional starters for the event based on the drivers highest in tour points that do not qualify for the main event and that pair of drivers will start 21st and 22nd.

Activities at Boyd’s Speedway for The Gobbler on Saturday November 20 will see the pit area open at 1:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 2:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 4:00 p.m., followed by on-track activities at 4:30 p.m. (NOTE: times are subject to change due to temperatures). Ticket prices at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday November 20 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $40.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Left Rear/Fronts-Hoosier 1350 or American Racer 48; Right Rear-Hoosier 1350, Hoosier 1600 or American Racer 48 or American Racer 56; (NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear and there is NO droop rule). Teams must use the same set of 4 tires for Qualifying and Heat Races. For the Feature, teams may use one (1) new rear tire (flat tire must be replaced with a used tire of the same compound and construction). The entry fee will be $100 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 24-car starting field at each event will receive $50 tow money.

The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Left Front, Right Front, and Left Rear- Hoosier M30S and American Racer Hard; Right Rear- Hoosier M30S, M60, Medium, and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard. All tires may be siped anywhere on the car. No grooving of any tires. Drivers will be required to time trial and heat race on the same four tires that must be marked prior to time trials and will be allowed one (1) new rear tire for the feature event. The entry fee for the event is $40 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available to rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $30 tow money.
