Let’s Get Dirty Autism Weekend Goes at Boyd’s Speedway for April 29, April 30

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (April 22, 2022) – The Iron-Man Racing Series family will be a part of a very special weekend at Boyd’s Speedway as the track will present the Let’s Get Dirty Autism Weekend presented by John Schneider Studios, Mountain View Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram, and Will Kinzer Foundation for Autism Research at the track on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series will begin their 2022 season and race on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30 for $1,500 to win and $150 to start each night, while the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will be in action in a non-points event on Saturday April 30, racing for $4,000 to win and $400 to start.

The weekend will begin on Friday April 29 at Boyd’s Speedway and will feature the Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Last Chance Heats, and a 25-lap, $1,500 to win/$150 to start feature event. Other divisions in competition on Friday April 29 at Boyd’s Speedway will be the track’s 604 Crate Late Models ($1,200 to win), Sportsman 602 ($800 to win), Front Wheel Drives ($400 to win), Pony’s ($400 to win), and Beginner Sportsman ($150 to win). Super Late Models may practice on Friday Night. Activities at Boyd’s Speedway on Friday April 29 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 4:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:45 p.m. and on-track action begins at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices on Friday April 29 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults (children ages 6-12 will be $5 and children ages 5 and under are free) and a pit pass will be $30 for adults (children ages 6-12 will be $15 and children ages 5 and under are free).

The weekend will conclude at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday April 30 and will feature the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Last Chance Heats, and a 30-lap, $4,000 to win/$400 to start feature event (this will be non-points for the series). The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Series will also be featured in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Last Chance Heats, and a 25-lap, $1,500 to win/$150 to start feature event. Other divisions in competition on Saturday October 9 at Boyd’s Speedway will be the track’s 604 Crate Late Models ($2,000 to win), Sportsman 602 ($1,250 to win), Front Wheel Drives ($750 to win), B-Hobby ($500 to win), and an Enduro ($1,000 to win). If someone wins both Friday and Saturday Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified events, there will be a $500 Bonus paid out, making it possible $3,500 to win for the weekend. Activities at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday April 30 will see the pit area open at 1:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 3:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., followed by on-track action beginning at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices on Saturday April 30 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults (children ages 6-12 will be $5 and children ages 5 and under are free) and a pit pass will be $40 for adults (children ages 6-12 will be $15 and children ages 5 and under are free).

There will also be special activities for the entire family on Saturday April 30 throughout the day including a car show, a meet and greet with John Schneider, inflatables for the kids, and helicopter rides.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event on Saturday April 30 and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350, 1600, LM40 (Crate 21 and 55 also are fine) or American Racer 48 and 56 (if the series needs to do a tire rule limiting the number of tires per night it will, but as of now the series will not be limiting the number of tires for either series; NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the new standardized 2022 body rules). The entry fee will be $100 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $50 tow money.

The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the program both nights and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier M30s, M60, Medium, Hard; American Racer Hard and Extra Hard (only Hoosier M60, Hard, and American Racer Extra Hard are allowed as right-rear tire options; grooving and siping of tires are allowed per UMP rulebook; UMP 2022 body rules apply; no limit of tires used per night). The entry fee will be $40 per event and transponders for timing/scoring purposes will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 20-car starting field at each event will receive $30 tow money.
