The 15th Annual Scorcher for the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series Set for Volunteer Speedway Wednesday September 14

BULLS GAP, TENNESSEE (September 10, 2022) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will roll into Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Wednesday September 14 for the 15th Annual Scorcher event paying $12,000 to win/$1,000 to start. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series will also be in action in a $1,500 to win/$150 to start feature event.
The Scorcher event returns to Volunteer Speedway in conjunction with the week of NASCAR events at Bristol Motor Speedway that will take place Thursday September 15 through Saturday September 17.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will sanction the 15th edition of the Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Wednesday September 14 and will see the Super Late Models of the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series featured in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, Impact Race Gear B-Mains, and the 50 lap, $12,000 to win/$1,000 to start 15th Annual Scorcher main event. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series will also be in action as part of the 15th Annual Scorcher in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, and a 20 lap, $1,500 to win/$150 to start feature contest. The Sportsman Late Model division will be in competition during the 15th Annual Scorcher, racing 20 laps for $750-to-win.

Activities for the 15th Annual Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway on Wednesday September 14 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:15 p.m., with hot laps beginning at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing. Ticket prices at Volunteer Speedway on Wednesday September 14 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults (children ages 12 and under free), while a pit pass will be $30 (children ages 12 and under will be $15).

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of each event and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350, 1600, LM40 (Crate 21 and 55 also are fine) or American Racer 48 and 56 (there is no limit on the number of tires used; NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the new standardized 2022 body rules). The entry fee will be $100 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at each track. Any driver not making the 24-car starting field will receive $75 tow money.

The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the program and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier M30s, M60, Medium, Hard; American Racer Hard and Extra Hard (only Hoosier M60, Hard, and American Racer Extra Hard are allowed as right-rear tire options; grooving and siping of tires are allowed per UMP rulebook; UMP 2022 body rules apply; no limit of tires used per night). The entry fee will be $40 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $30 tow money.
