Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series Back in Action at the 34th Annual Gobbler at Boyd’s Speedway Saturday November 19

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (November 12, 2022) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will return to action this weekend in one of the south’s oldest traditional events, the 34th Annual Gobbler, at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Saturday November 19. The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series competitors will be action in a 40-lap main event that will pay $10,000 to win and $600 to start. The series would like to thank the promotional team of Boyd’s Speedway for putting more money into the Late Model purse for the Gobbler including upping the start money to $600.

The track will host an open practice to get the weekend underway on Friday November 18. The pit area will open at 3:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 4:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the open practice on Friday November 18 in the general admission area is free, while a pit pass for the open practice on Friday November 18 will be $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12, and children ages 5 and under are free.

The 34th Annual Gobbler will take place on Saturday November 18 and will feature the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series in a full program of Denby’s J&J Construction Hot Laps, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, Impact Race Gear B-Mains, and the 40-lap, $10,000 to win/$600 to start 34th Annual Gobbler feature contest. Other divisions in competition on Saturday November 19 at Boyd’s Speedway will be the track’s 604 Crate Late Models ($2,000 to win), Sportsman 602 ($1,250 to win), Front Wheel Drives ($600 to win), Dwarf Cars ($450 to win), CRUSA/Taz/Gap Street Stocks ($1,000 to win), and an Enduro ($1,000 to win).

Activities at Boyd’s Speedway for the 34th Annual Gobbler on Saturday November 19 will see the pit area open at 2:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 3:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 5:00 p.m., followed by on-track action beginning at 5:15 p.m. Ticket prices for the 34th Annual Gobbler at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday November 19 in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, children ages 6-12 will be $10, and children ages 5 and under are free. VIP Ticket prices are $60. Pit passes will be $45 for adults, children ages 6-12 will be $20, and children ages 5 and under are free.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350/1600/LM40/21 or American Racer 48 and 56 anywhere on the car, with the Left Front being open (there is no limit on the number of tires used; NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the new standardized 2022 body rules). The entry fee will be $100 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $75 tow money.
