Rain Forecast Halts Iron-Man Northern Series Visit to Atomic Speedway

WAVERLY, OHIO (May 11, 2023)—Officials with Atomic Speedway and the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series have agreed to postpone the Mother’s Day Shootout scheduled for this Saturday May 13 due to incoming rains and storms forecasted Friday into Saturday. The event, along with the Brucebilt Iron-Man UMP DIRTcar Modifieds ($1,500-to-win) and Race Saver 305 Sprints joining the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series ($7,500-to-win) will be made up on Saturday July 22nd. This marks the second straight rainout for the Northern series.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series will now open the season on Friday May 26 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Ky. paying $7,500-to-win for the Bobby Carrier Sr. Tribute event then on Saturday May 27 for the Johnny Wheeler Memorial at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Ky. paying $7,531-to-win. These two events will be co-sanctioned with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series.
