Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series to Sanction Harvest 50 at Skyline Speedway

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (January 9, 2025)—Officials with the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series fueled by VP are pleased to announce the addition of the 40th Anniversary running of the Harvest 50 at Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio to the 2025 schedule.

An agreement was reached between Series Promoter Chris Tilley and Track Promoter Jeff Burdette to sanction the historical event that will pay $5,000-to-win on Saturday September 27, 2025. “We want to thank Jeff (Burdette) for allowing us to sanction this mega-event. Skyline Speedway and the Harvest 50 both have so much historical value that’s a huge part of the Buckeye State and we’re just honored to be part of it,” stated Chris Tilley.

The event will be worth $6,530-to-win with sponsorship from six-time winner Steve Shaver who is sponsoring $1,530 for whoever is leading at the 30th lap in the feature. Steve Shaver, who represents Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, is placing the Lap-30 Leader Bonus on top of the winner’s share if they’re leading on the lap of a number that sat on the side of his race car, “30” for many years. Shaver, a 2018 National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Member, is a leader in Commercial and Residential Real Estate in both Ohio and West Virginia. Contact Steve Shaver at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in Parkersburg, WV at (304) 482-7500.

Rodney Combs of Lost Creek, W.V. won the inaugural Late Model event in 1984 and Tyler Carpenter, a seven-time winner won the most recent event in 2024. Other than Carpenter, multiple race winners include Steve Shaver (six times), Josh McGuire (four times), Bob Adams Jr. (three times) and Harold Redman Jr. (twice). In 1997, the event was hosted as a Sprint Car race as Todd Kane was victorious in the Harvest 50.

The Harvest 50 weekend kicks off on Friday September 26, 2025, as the track will host an unsanctioned $2,000-to-win and $200-to-start event in preparation for the first-ever visit by the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series on Saturday September 27, 2025, paying $5,000-to-win and $500-to-start the 50-lap main event.
