Hidden Hollow’s Coal Miners Classic Surges to $7,500-to-win on September 12

COLSON, KENTUCKY (August 20, 2025)—Hidden Hollow Speedway track owner Stephen Breeding is excited to announce that his first-ever Super Late Model event will now pay $7,500-to-win. The Coal Miners Classic, that will be tri-sanctioned with the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series, the Ultimate Heart of America Super Late Model Series and the Battle of the Bluegrass DIRTcar Series.

The Coal Miners Classic on Friday September 12 at now pays $7,500-to-win and $500-to-start for the 20-car field which boasts a purse in excess of $26,000.

“This track was basically built from the ground up. Sure (Lucky 7 Speedway) was there many years ago but Stephen (Breeding) has built a super nice race track and facility and still plans to upgrade each year,” stated Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Promoter Chris Tilley. “When Stephen called me last fall and said he wanted to build a race track, I knew then he’d be the right person for the job. His passion for racing comes from his late father Tim and it’s been a fun journey watching his race track building process become a cool reality. We’ve spent plenty of hours on the phone the last ten months and I’m excited to get there in September,” continued Tilley.

Hidden Hollow Speedway is located at 45 KY 7 in Isom, KY 41824. Race teams need to follow Highway 15 out of Hazard, KY to Highway 7 (turn left) at Breeding’s Plumbing & Electric. The track is located approximately five miles on the right off of Highway 7.
