WAVERLY, OHIO (September 20, 2025)– The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP would visit Atomic Speedway in Waverly, OH on Saturday evening for the third time this season and this trip would see the 22nd Annual Iron-Man Classic on the docket and Colten Burdette would sweep this evening as he led all thirty laps of the feature contest and would score a $5,000 victory.

The win by the 31-year-old Burdette was his second series win of the season and his second career Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP victory and came aboard the Steve Curtis owned Rocket Chassis powered by an Andy Durham Race Engine and carries sponsorship from Curtis Towing, Advanced Painting, Dimit Accounting, Matt Cochran’s Trucking, Athens Advanced Chiropractic, Westfall Towing, GO Lithium, and Hoosier Tire by Frye.

Colten Burdette would take the lead at the start of the 22nd Annual Iron-Man Classic main event, with Rusty Schlenk, Clint Keenan, Lincoln Smith, and Caiden Black in pursuit. Burdette would quickly build a comfortable lead, with Schlenk and Keenan dueling for the second position. Burdette would quickly catch the rear of the field and begin to lap slower traffic on lap five. The first of two caution flags in the event would wave on lap eight for a slowed Darren Kattine at the top of turn two, with his night finished. The restart would see Burdette maintain the race lead, while Keenan would take second from Schlenk, Smith would maintain fourth, and Rod Conley would take the fifth spot from Black. Burdette would continue to control the pace out front, while Keenan and Schlenk would resume their battle for second, while R.J. Conley would take the fifth position from Rod Conley on lap twelve. Burdette’s rapid pace out front would see start working lapped traffic again by lap fourteen. Meanwhile, the Conley brothers would battle for fifth, with R.J. Conley taking fourth from Smith on lap 17. Burdette would continue to set sail out front, as the final caution of the event would slow his pace on lap twenty-one when Seth Daniels would shred a right-rear tire and leave the remains of the tire on the track. Once action resumed, Burdette would maintain the lead, with Keenan, Schlenk, and R.J. Conley second through fourth, while Rod Conley would take the fifth position from Smith. Burdette would maintain a comfortable lead, while Keenan and Schlenk would again battle for the second position, while the Conley brothers would battle for the fourth position. The battle for second would heat up on lap twenty-four even more, with Schlenk taking the second position on lap twenty-five. However, Burdette would not be challenged the remainder of the way and would claim the victory, with Schlenk finishing second, while Keenan would come home third. R.J. Conley would finish fourth, while Rod Conley would claim the fifth position. Caiden Black would make last lap pass of Lincoln Smith to finish sixth, with Smith, Rob Anderzack, K.C. Burdette, and Kirk Phillips completing the top ten.
