Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Visits Skyline for 40th Harvest 50 on September 27

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (September 23, 2025)—The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series fueled by VP wraps up the month of September with a first-time visit to Jeff Burdette’s Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio on Saturday September 27 for the 40th Anniversary running of the Harvest 50.

The Harvest 50 weekend kicks off on Friday September 26, 2025, as the track will host an unsanctioned $2,000-to-win UMP DIRTcar Late Model event in preparation for the first-ever visit by the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series on Saturday September 27, 2025, paying $5,000-to-win and $500-to-start the 50-lap main event. The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds ($1,200-to-win) and Sport Mods ($500-to-win) will join the event on Saturday. On Saturday, the pits will open at 3:30 pm and hot laps are slated for 6:00 pm. Adult general admission is $20 while adult pit passes are $40.

The event will be worth $6,530-to-win with sponsorship from six-time winner Steve Shaver who is sponsoring $1,530 for whoever is leading at the 30th lap in the feature. Steve Shaver, who represents Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, is placing the Lap-30 Leader Bonus on top of the winner’s share if they’re leading on the lap of a number that sat on the side of his race car “30”. Shaver, a 2018 National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Member, is a leader in Commercial and Residential Real Estate in both Ohio and West Virginia. Contact Steve Shaver at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in Parkersburg, WV at (304) 482-7500.

In addition, all Heat Race winners will receive $100 courtesy of Mark Martin Archive. Dirt Behind the Scenes has also placed a $200 Fast Time Award. Four-time Harvest 50 winner Josh McGuire of Grayson, Ky. will serve as the Harvest 50 grand marshal.

Rodney Combs of Lost Creek, W.V. won the inaugural Late Model event in 1984 and Tyler Carpenter, a seven-time winner won the most recent event in 2024. Other than Carpenter, multiple race winners include Steve Shaver (six times), Josh McGuire (four times), Bob Adams Jr. (three times) and Harold Redman Jr. (twice). In 1997, the event was hosted as a Sprint Car race as Todd Kane was victorious in the Harvest 50.

The tire rule for Skyline Speedway on September 27 will be Fronts & Left Rear: Hoosier NLMT 2 & NLMT 3. Right Rear: NLMT 2, NLMT 3 & NLMT 4. The entry fee is $50 for this event and tow money is $75 for any car not making the field of 22.
