Burdette Bags 40th Annual Harvest 50 Payday with Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series at Skyline Speedway
STEWART, OHIO (September 27, 2025)– The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP would make its first ever visit to Skyline Speedway in Stewart, OH on Saturday for the 40th Annual Harvest 50 and Colten Burdette of Parkersburg, WV would survive a green-white-checkered finish to score the victory and claim the $5,000 victory. It would be Burdette’s second consecutive series win.
The win by the 31-year-old Burdette was his third series victory of the season and his third career Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP victory and came aboard the Steve Curtis owned Rocket Chassis powered by an Andy Durham Race Engine and carries sponsorship from Curtis Towing, Advanced Painting, Dimit Accounting, Matt Cochran’s Trucking, Athens Advanced Chiropractic, Westfall Towing, GO Lithium, and Hoosier Tire by Frye.
Rusty Schlenk would take the lead at the start of the Harvest 50 main event, followed by Chris Carpenter, Ryan Montgomery, Tyler Carpenter, and Clint Keenan. Tyler Carpenter would take the third position from Montgomery on lap three. The top five remained the same as Schlenk would begin to lap slower traffic on lap seven. With Schlenk working traffic, Tyler Carpenter would take the runner-up spot from Chris Carpenter on lap ten and by lap twelve, Schlenk would be in heavy traffic. Keenan would pressure Montgomery for the fourth position and grab in on lap fourteen. Disaster would strike for second place running Tyler Carpenter when his machine slowed on the frontchute on lap seventeen and drew the caution flag, with Tyler’s night finished. Schlenk would control the restart, with Chris Carpenter second, while Michael Lake would jump past Keenan for third, with Zack Dohm taking fifth away from Colten Burdette. Schlenk would maintain a comfortable lead and would begin working traffic again on lap twenty-eight and two laps later, would collect the $1,530 bonus for leading lap thirty. Dohm would take the third position from Lake on lap thirty-one, meanwhile, Schlenk’s machine would begin to show signs of smoke as the caution appeared again on lap thirty-eight a slowed Corey Delancey in turn two. While the field, was under caution, Schlenk would pull to the pit area with mechanical issues and would be done for the night. This turn of events would give Chris Carpenter the race lead on the restart, with Lake, Dohm, Burdette, and Seth Daniels now second through fifth. Keenan would make his way back into the top five past Daniels on lap forty, while Burdette would grab the third position from Lake on lap forty-two. Carpenter and Dohm would begin to battle for the race lead, with Dohm nosing past Carpenter as the pair took the white flag, but the pair would make contact entering turn three on the final lap would spin to bring out the final caution of the event. This would set up a green-white-checkered finish and put Burdette in the lead, with Lake, Caiden Black, Daniels and Keenan in pursuit. Burdette would hold off a last lap charge from Lake to claim the win, with Lake second and Black third. Keenan and Daniels would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Rod Conley, Chris Carpenter, Ryan Montgomery, Eddie Carrier, Jr., and Zack Dohm.
The next event for the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Late Model Series Fueled by VP will be on Saturday October 4 at Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, KY for the 3rd Annual Fall 40, paying $10,000 to win and $500 to start. This event will co-sanctioned by the Battle of the Bluegrass DIRTcar Series presented by Slicker Graphics.
